At least 9 people were killed following violent explosions in a camp for displaced people in the suburbs of Goma, capital of the North Kivu province, this Friday as per Congolese outlet Actaulite.cd

Several serious injuries were also recorded, arousing the anger of many people. This situation follows the fighting between the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the M23 rebels.

The toll from this Friday’s explosions could rise given their consequences. All the injured are taken care of. Meanwhile, the FARDC and the M23 blame each other for these fatal shots.
