Rayon Sports and Amagaju FC have reached an agreement in principle to sign Burundian midfielder Abdoul Rahman Rukundo according toTimes Sport can confirm.

A source close to Amagaju FC told Times Sport that Rayon Sports is ready to meet the club’s asking price of Rwf 20 million for the midfielder. The club has also agreed personal terms with the player who looks set to put pen to paper when he returns from his vacation from his home country Burundi.

Rukundo, who joined Amagaju before the beginning of the 2023/24 season, was among standout performers during the Primus National League.

Despite being a midfielder, he finished third on the league top scoring charts with 13 goals, just two goals shy of joint top scorers Victor Mbaoma of APR FC and Ani Elijah of Bugesera FC.

Elsewhere, Gorilla FC have signed Police FC midfielder Patrick Manzi as they continue their recruitment exercise in the ongoing offseason transfer window.

Manzi, who left Police FC after his contract expired at the end of the season, signed a two-year deal for Gorilla FC on Monday, June 24, becoming the club’s fifth signing so far as club continues major rebuild before the beginning of the new season.

And, Bugesera FC are leading the race to acquire striker Gabriel Godspower from relegated side Etoile de l’Est.

The Nyamata-based side sees the Ghanaian as a perfect replacement for Elijah Ani who left for Police FC.

Meanwhile, Etincelles FC remain restricted from signing any player pending their FIFA transfer ban until they pay their former midfielder Prince Jerome Iniesta an amount of $ 7,020 which is equivalent to Rwf 8,850,000.
