Having accepted the fate of trophy-less season, Rayon Sports captain Muhire Kevin says the team can have many more trophy-less seasons, unless president changes recruitment team and policies.
As per igihe.com, Muhire Kevin said this after securing the Rwanda Peace Cup 2024 third spot with a 1-0 win against Gasogi United at Kigali Pele Stadium, on Tuesday.
“They should reshuffle the recruitment, ignoring the so called high-rated ones. When you want a good player, you commit, you invest. You rather buy three qualitative players than 10 average ones.” Said the captain.
The Rwandan international added: “A good player doesn’t pass through test. If the policy of test continues, we will have many more seasons like this.”
On what he thinks Rayon Sports board should change from what they have done in the ending four-year term, Muhire Kevin urges president Jean Fidele Uwayezu to change recruitment team and his advisors.
“A team should have technical director or other recruitment staff. President isn’t the one to act as both general secretary and recruiter at the same time.”
“For me, there is the president, he’s cooperative and tries his best to help the team to their goals. For they’ve been deceiving him, it’s time for him to decide and know what’s needed to build.”
“He’s abused – Having experienced football world, he has to change. To change recruitment team and advisors it is a nightmare to have a trophy-less Rayon Sports.” Concluded Muhire.
Rayon Sports captain Muhire Kevin says this while the Blue and White brought in around 15 new players in the 2023/24 season. Most them have flopped.
