The current population of Africa is 1,482,724,524 as of Saturday, February 24, 2024, based on the latest United Nations estimates. Africa population is equivalent to 17.89% of the total world population.

Around 400 million Africans use social media: 70.35% use Facebook, 11.39 YouTube, 7.77 % Twitter, 6.53 Instagram, 3.19 Pinterest, 0.52 LinkedIn,

Musicians and sportsmen dominate in terms of popularity in Africans e-community. Six Egyptians make it into top 10 with five of them occupying the first five spots. Others are three Nigerians and a South African.

Abraham Benjamin de Villiers (born 17 February 1984) is a South African former international cricketer, and a current commentator. AB de Villiers was named as the ICC ODI Player of the Year three times during his 15-year international career and was one of the five Wisden cricketers of the decade at the end of 2019.
